We have created a special solution for wind turbine manufacturers, which we call a Vortex. Translated into Danish, it means whirlwind, and is a unique solution to ensure that the wind turbine tower does not oscillate when it is being transported or is waiting for the house to be mounted on the top.
The Vortex is a windbreaker made of foam, netting and cord whose primary function is to deflect wind. The vortex is twisted around the tower and thus creates a path for winds, which prevents the tower from oscillating. The net protects the tower from wear and scratches.
It is effective on land and when the towers are transported by ship to their destination because they stabilize the unfinished towers during shipping before construction.
A weak link is a wire that is designed to snap when the load on the wire reaches a certain tension.
For Viking Life-Saving Equipment A/S, we produce custom-made dowels and Bowsing elastics, which keep the lifeboats close to the ship. The weak link is a wire rope that is mounted on the lifeboat and the bowsing elastic. It has two functions, to connect the elastic with the lifeboat and to jump when it reaches a certain load.
The weak link must spring when the pull becomes too great and must ensure that the liferaft releases contact with the ship, so that the lifeboat is not dragged down to the seabed if the ship were to go down.
A weak link consists of a metal wire in 2 brackets that snaps when the load becomes too great.
